After almost a year and half of quarantine, lockdowns, and adjusting to a new version of normal-one that prohibited most travel, the world is finally returning to its old ways. We have been yearning for any sort of vacation, daydreaming about the idyllic beaches in Greece, the flavorful food of Mexico, and spending time at the exquisite cafes in Paris. All of these dreams are now a reality. Air travel is back in most countries, and airports are seeing a record number of travelers daily. Ticket sales in the U.S. in May also grew 18% compared with April, which shows the fifth straight month of growth.

Thanks to the vaccine efforts, and the drop in cases worldwide, airlines and citizens are both happy to find that air travel is now readily available. In June, the European Union announced they were lifting their travel curbs, and that Americans are now able to visit European countries if they are vaccinated. We’ve created a list of some of the best places you are now able to visit, and have included some fabulous recommendations for things to do while you are there!

Athens, Greece

On May 14th, Greece opened up to visitors, and it is the perfect summer vacation destination. Athens, with its popular evil eyes, magnificent views, and breath-taking outdoor eating options is a hot spot for travelers. We recommend basking in the glorious sun, and enjoying the water. But if you are into more of an historical adventure, check out the Acropolis tour. For those of you who are desiring a sporty activity, there are numerous sailing and boating activities for both the expert or beginner sailor. Before being allowed into Greece, it is necessary for passengers to submit a PLF (Passenger Locator Forum), as well as a negative COVID-19 test, or proof of a vaccination. It is all worth it, Greece is a must see!

Antigua

Antigua is another destination you don’t want to miss. It is well known for its breathtaking beaches, and its coral reefs. Americans are allowed into Antigua with a negative COVID-19 test, along with passing the temperature checks and health screenings upon arrival. The food in Antigua is phenomenal, consider chowing down on some freshly caught lobster at Turners Beach Bar, while taking in the beautiful view of the island Montserrat. You can also pay a visit to the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica is always a favorite destination spot. There is no shortage of things to do and see while there! For Americans wanting to visit, it is not necessary to provide a negative COVID-19 test upon arrival, but it is important to note that they will need to purchase or show proof of medical insurance. We recommend visiting the superb beaches that Costa Rica has to offer, try exploring the Nicoya Peninsula! Then, head over to the Arenal Volcano for some sightseeing!
